Stanley was killed on August 13, 1915..."The home of Will Barlow was the scene of a terrible accident on Friday, August 13, when their only son, Stanley, a lad of five years, who was sitting on a big beam directly over a threshing machine which was in motion, lost his balance and fell into the machine head foremost. Instant death was the result.

The boy was a bright, active little fellow and will be mourned by all who knew him.

His death was an especially hard blow to the immediate family, nearly prostrating them with grief. Left to grieve for him are the father, mother, and three sisters, all older than he was. The funeral services were held at the house on Sunday. Rev. Gardner of Ft. Covington preached the sermon."
