WILLIAMSON – Martha J., 90, Patton, passed away March 5, 2015, at UPMC Altoona. Born April 2, 1924, in Spangler, daughter of William H. and Mary Ellen (Yahner) Gwynn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irwin L. Williamson, whom she married May 12, 1944; grandson, Wade Merrill; and brothers, William and Arthur. Survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen (Raymond) Wendekier, Janet L. (Donald) Merrill and Arlene E. (Allen Neale Jr.) Dow, all of Patton; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Blair, Johnstown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Martha was formerly employed at Patton A&P and Sylvania in Altoona during World War II and spent her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and great-grandmother. Member of Patton Presbyterian Church, where she was very active, and a member of Patton Hobby Club for 50 years. Former Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and shopping. Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, Pa. 16668, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday by the Rev. David McCabe. Interment, Fairview Cemetery. Memorials are requested to Patton Presbyterian Church. Friends may extend condolences at www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes. com.
