Tecoa was the daughter of Joseph Wild & Addie Miles. According to Find a Grave contributor Judy Fisher, Tecoa's nickname was Teekie.

She married:
(1) Lewis Henry Sprinkle on 11 Nov 1889 in Buncombe Co., NC
(2) George Dobson Byrd on 23 Sep 1897 in Buncombe Co., NC

Tecoa & Lewis Sprinkle had two daughters: Corena Adaline and Della Ethel. They married brothers. Corena married Thomas Jiles Watson and Della married Bennie Brown Watson.

Tecoa, George Byrd and the two girls moved from North Carolina to Texas between 1900 and 1910. After Tecoa's death, George returned to North Carolina, where he died.

Note that Tecoa's death certificate is filed with her name spelled Leka Bird.
