Rites for Mrs. Bethel Barnaby, 75, to Be Conducted Saturday
Mrs. Bethel Barnaby, 75, of 1117 North Topeka, died in a local hospital Thursday. A native of Harrison county, Ind., she was born September 7, 1861. She came to Wichita in 1887 from St. Joseph, Mo. Her husband, Lafayette Barnaby, who died in 1927 was a well-known Wichita bridge contractor. She was a member of the Fairview Christian church.
She is survived by a son, Oda H. Barnaby, Sr., of 1768 South Emporia, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Cochran chapel. Rev. J. Rex Smith officiating. Interment will be in Wichita Park cemetery.
