Betty Brown McFadden, 73, of Wingina, died on Friday, February 11, 2011, at her home.
She was born July 23, 1937, in Howardsville, Virginia, the daughter of the late Clyde Brown and Martha Taylor Brown.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lewis McFadden in 1998; and her son, Morris Eugene McFadden.
Betty is survived by her son, Robert Anthony McFadden of Wingina; a brother, Hugh Brown and Mary Esther of Chester; a sister, Dorothy Carter and Gene of Hopewell; a daughter-in-law, Alice McFadden of Lowesville; four grandchildren, Erica McFadden, Anthony McFadden, Jeffrey McFadden and Lillie McFadden; three great-grandchildren, Joe McFadden, Brenna McFadden and Haley Davis; a close friend, Juanita Burnley of Shipman; a special friend, Sherwood Martin of Wingina; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodland Methodist Church Cemetery, Buckingham, Virginia.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made in her memory to Fairmont Baptist Church.
