Helen Smith England passed away on January 18 in Salt Lake City Utah at the age of 83.

She was born June 4, 1932 in Montpelier, Idaho to Elmer Thomas Smith and Sarah Taylor Smith.

When she was a young girl she lived in several towns in Idaho and Wyoming, as her father worked on the railroad, and was transferred several times.

Helen graduated from Soda Springs High School and then moved to Pocatello where she attended Business College.

It was there that she met Charles England and they were married in the Logan Temple on October 2, 1952. They were married when he was on one of his leaves while he was serving in the U.S Navy during the Korean War.

Helen was a busy Homemaker and sewed clothes for her children, and even belonged to a sewing club that periodically took Family vacations to Bear Lake beaches and a very Large Cabin in Swan Valley.

Helen retired after working for 35 years in the Business field like Farm Bureau Insurance in Pocatello and Zions Bank in Salt Lake City.

Helen also lived in Tulare California for 2 years. Helen and Charles moved the Family to Salt Lake City in 1974. After retiring they were called to work in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, one of many church callings that Helen did including Primary President, teacher, and secretary, MIA President, and Relief Society Homemaking Leader, and secretary.

Helen also worked at the Salt Lake City Election Polls and stayed busy making crafts for her craft business with her daughter Diane. Helen enjoyed going to the Utah Jazz Basketball Games, as she had season tickets. Helen enjoyed such Hobbies as Gardening, counted cross-stitching, Tole Painting, and Traveling. Helen was named Pocatello Mother of the year in 1958.

Helen was preceded in death by her father Elmer and mother Sarah, and sister Marilyn Smith.

Helen is survived by her husband Charles England, daughters Diane (Troy) Murray, Pocatello, Karen (Rick) Scherbel, Bountiful Utah, and son Gary (Kacie) England, Heber, Utah. 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
