George J. Kline, 92, of Clay, NY passed away peacefully at Iroquois Nursing Home on Friday with family at his side. He has lived in the Syracuse area all his life, served in the US Navy from February 1943 through February 1946. He worked as an electrician for the Penn Central Railroad and then Muench-Kreuzer Candle Company. He retired in 1986. He worked part-time for Avis Car Rental until 2007. George married the love of his life, Shirley, October 20, 1945 at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Westvale. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; a daughter, Sandy Kline; a son, Jim (Jane) Kline; two sisters, Helen Keys and Audrey (Reg) Lincoln; a brother, Don (Joanne) Kline; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Entombment will follow at St. Mary's Mausoleum, Dewitt, NY.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Sacred Heart Church, Cicero.
George's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Iroquois Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided.
