Kevin graduated from Bristow High School in 1978 and went on to attend college at McPherson College where he played football. He worked for over twenty years at Riverside Chevrolet as the General Sales Manager. Kevin was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bristow. He enjoyed playing golf, riding horses, playing with his dogs, playing football and basketball, watching OU and the Kansas City Chiefs, cooking, and traveling. But most of all, Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family.
Kevin is survived by his mother, Florine Matthews of Bristow; two sons, Kelly Matthews of Houston, Texas and Brent Matthews of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Katie Matthews of Oklahoma City; the mother of his children, Renee Matthews of Tulsa; one brother, Ron Matthews and his wife, Patti, of Bristow; and two sisters, Brenda Morris and her husband, Paul, of Bristow and Lori Hagan and her husband, Dwayne, of Sapulpa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Matthews.
Funeral Services ~ Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the First Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Gemmill officiating. Interment will follow in Konawa City Cemetery in Konawa, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or Sojourn Hospice.
