Frank was baptized and confirmed at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita. He attended Anita Community Schools, graduating in 1967. On October 30 1967, he enlisted in the US Army. During his tour of duty, he served as an engine powertrain repairman and was stationed in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged August 6, 1970 and returned to the Anita area.
On August 23 1970, he was united in marriage to Martha Rae "Skeeter" Roberts at the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Anita.
Frank was employed as a carpenter by Lester Clemsen of Atlantic IA for many years, and continued to work as a carpenter after Lester retired, until his own health forced him to retire.
Frank always enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. He also enjoyed watching old westerns and spending time in his flower garden. Frank like to just tinker around in his yard then sit and watch people while sipping an ice cold Coca Cola. He was almost always accompanied by his faithful friend, Curly. One of Frank's greatest joys was time spent with his nephews and nieces.
Frank was preceeded in death by wife "Skeeter", parents, and niece Melissa Dawn Claussen.
He is survived by brothers: Sherm (Thelma) of Irwin IA, Herm (Deb) of Lawson MO, and Bill (Cathy) of Atlantic IA; sister Olinda (Jim) Kraus of Massina IA; many nephews, nieces and friends and other relatives.
