JENKINS, Donna Akers, of Powhatan, passed from this life on Sunday, January 17, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Deliah Akers; sister, Norma Tripp; and brother, Kenneth Akers.
Donna is survived by her husband of 56 years, Capt. Kenneth Jenkins; two daughters, Laurie Widener and her husband, Mark and Kimberly Jenkins; three grandchildren, Randy Widener and his wife, Jessie, Kaitlyn Gwaltney and her husband, Matthew and Kevin Widener; as well as her three siblings, Ellouise FiGart, Larry Akers and Gene Akers.
She was a volunteer of nearly 30 years at Chippenham Hospital and played a supportive role as vice president and secretary/treasurer of her husband's construction company.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd., where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, January 21. Interment to follow in Washington Memorial Park.
