Mrs. Ione Furlong Kaiser Passes Away at Hospital
Mrs. Ione Furlong Kaiser passed away Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Ennis hospital in Shullsburg, Wis., following an operation which was performed on August 13th.
Ione Furlong was born in Vinegar Hill township and attended the rural schools there, and also attended the Hazel Green high school. She was married in October, 1926, to Wm. Kaiser, who passed away in 1928. Since then she has made her home in Dubuque and Galena. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Claire, who died in 1933. Mrs. Kaiser is survived by one sister, Vivian Furlong, of Galena; three brothers, John and Faber Furlong of Vinegar Hill, and Earl Furlong of Hazel Green. She was a niece of Miss Mary and James E. Furlong of Galena.
Mrs. Kaiser’s body will repose at the Furlong Chapel Home in Galena, where friends may call until late Sunday afternoon when she will be taken to the home of her brother, Faber Furlong, in Vinegar Hill township, where services will be held Monday morning at 9 o’clock to St. Michael’s church in Galena at 9:30. Interment will be made in St. Michael’s cemetery.
