Jackson Nov. 13, 1924 – Sept. 10, 2006
Lenora Jean Jackson Nov. 13, 1924 – Sept. 10, 2006 Basham Funeral Care Graveside services for Lenora Jean Newton Jackson will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Friday morning, September 15, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Lenora was born November 13, 1924 to Alva and Clay Hunter Newton in Marmaduke, Arkansas and she passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 10, 2006 in Bakersfield, California. Other than her family Mom's fondest memories were of her childhood growing up in Marmaduke. Even though being a child of the Great Depression along with its inherent daily struggles Mom reveled in playing basketball for Marmaduke High School, being a judge for 4-H competitions, singing in the Baptist Church Choir and then rushing over to sing in the Methodist Church Choir. Having an outgoing personality a career in sales was a natural fit for Lenora. She was a top producing sales representative for Avon Cosmetics products for 40 years. Lenora is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, W.H. "Hank" Jackson; daughter, Patricia Musick; sister, Lorene Conley and brother, Troy Newton. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Linda and husband James Narlock of La Grande, OR and Sheryl and husband Scott of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Michael and Nancy McGrew, Tammie and Steve Halton, Allison Narlock and special niece and nephews, Sandy Foster, Carl and Jean Park and James Park. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be deeply missed. For additional service or floral delivery information, please contact Basham Funeral Care at 873-8200.
