L. F. Higbee, 78, Dies at Home Near Halsey; Six Children Survive
L. F. Higbee, 7S, father of Rev. D. M. Higbee of Albany, died suddenly at his country home a few miles west of Halsey at about 10 o'clock this forenoon from an attack of heart failure. Mrs. Higbee died about a year ago.
Mr. Higbee was born in Indiana, in 1850 and from there went to Iowa and from this stale to Kansas where he made his home for many years before coming to Oregon in 1901. Mr. Higbee had spent all of his active life as a farmer, but had been living in retirement for several years before his death. He was a member of the United Brethren church and known as a devout Christian man.
Mr. Higbee is survived by five sons, one daughter and 12 grand children. The sons are Clarence Higbee of Marion, Rev. D. M. Higbee of Albany, I. A. Higbee who resides on the farm, Vere Higbee a teacher In the Tillamook schools, and Clarie Higbee of Salem. Mrs. Della Albertson of near Halsey is the daughter.
Funeral announcements will be made later but will probably be held at the Pine Grove church near Peoria.
