SIOUX CITY | Patrick L. Conway, 57, of Sioux City passed away at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016 after a 4 year courageous battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Pat's uncle, Rev. Laurence Burns and Rev. Roger Linnan officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery.

Patrick Leo was born June 26, 1958 in Emmetsburg, IA the son of Leo and Arlene (Burns) Conway. He graduated in 1977 from Emmetsburg High School where he was active in all sports. He continued his education at the University of South Dakota. Following graduation in 1981 he moved to Sioux City.

On November 5, 1983 he married Mary L. Wendt in Marcus, IA. Together they raised three children, Bridget, Emily and James. Pat worked for the last 26 years at U.P.S. and retired due to his health.

Pat was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a lector for many years and was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. Pat also had a special devotion to the Carmelite Monastery. He did volunteer work at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

In earlier years, Pat enjoyed coaching and watching baseball and going to his kids’ activities.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; 3 children and their spouses, Bridget and Mathew Macziewski of Sioux City; Emily and Chris Daugaard of Sioux Falls, SD and James and Stephanie Conway of Vermillion, SD; 3 grandchildren, Kyan, Kendall and Evelyn Macziewski; parents, Leo and Arlene Conway of Emmetsburg, IA; father-in-law, Francis Wendt of Remsen, IA; 3 sisters and their husbands, Kathy and John O’Malley, Jeanne and Tony Sambol and Molly and Tim Sprakel all of Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James and Gertrude Burns, paternal grandparents, Leo and Nelle Conway and mother-in-law, Phyllis Wendt.
