Kate Wood Sullivan

"Mary Catherine Wood was born on February 22 1844, at Victoria. She married Henry D. Sullivan on September 20, 1869, in St. Mary's (now Bayside). Mr. Sullivan was a leading ranchman; he later became a tax collector and was sheriff of Victoria. They had one son; a daughter died in infancy. Catherine died at the age of 31, on August 16, 1876 in New Jersey where she had gone in search of health. She is buried in Refugio."

Kate and Henry's son was John Henry Sullivan. He married Julia Williams. They had four children: Catherine M., John Troy, Bernard F., and Ruth.

1860 U.S. Census 9 Jun 1860 Catherine living in St. Maries (sic St. Mary's) with parents John H. and Nancy. Siblings: Mariah (sic Maria), Richard, Agnes, James, Tobias, Cora, John, Ida, and Julia.

1870 U.S. Census 24 Aug 1870 Kate Sullivan, age 26, living in San Patricio with husband Henry Sullivan. In the household are Mary Sullivan, sister to Henry, Millie Sullivan, sister to Henry, Joseph Sullivan, brother to Henry. Henry is a Stock Raiser.
