96, of Louisville, passed away on the afternoon of January 13, 2016 at Baptist Healthcare. She was the former Evelyn Chapman and a native of Demopolis, Alabama. Evelyn was a homemaker and a longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church where she had been the former President of the Woman's Missionary Society. She volunteered for over 30 years at Baptist East Hospital and was a member of the Woman's Auxiliary there.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ren Batson and her son, Billy J. Batson.
Left cherishing her memory are her daughters, Sara C. Batson (James Brunnquell) and Peggy L. Batson (Ben Martin), along with a granddaughter, Malinda Lee Pearson.
A Life Celebration will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at noon at the Arch L. Heady at Westport Village Chapel, 7410 Westport Road, with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
