Travis Vern (T.V.) Foster, 87, Loving Husband, Proud Father, Travis V. Foster, 87, passed away peacefully at home Thursday night, September 7, 2006, after a typically enjoyable day.

Travis was born in Boise, Idaho, the only child of Vern Foster and Otha Cassada Foster on June 12, 1919. He attended Boise and Franklin high schools. After working various jobs including construction for Morris-Knudson at Pearl Harbor and Midway Island in 1941 and a stint as a minor league pitcher for the Boise Pilots, he was drafted and served in World War II. He soon joined the U.S. Air Force at it's inception and served for almost twenty-five more years ­ serving in Korea and Vietnam.

In 1956, he met the love of his life, Lorainne Ryan of Beaumont, Texas. They married the following year and their son Don was born in 1958.

After seeing the world on many tours of duty for the Air Force, T.V. and family retired to Alamogordo, NM in 1976. Here he lived among friends and adopted family until his death.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorainne, who passed away earlier this year at home with her devoted husband by her side.

He is survived by a son, Don Foster and Erin Quigley of Los Angeles, CA and two grandchildren, Mark and Sara Ewert of Elk River, MN.

A Vigil will be recited by Father Wayne Herpin, S.J. at 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at Alamogordo Funeral Home Chapel.

A Memorial Mass will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at St. Jude Mission with Father Wayne D. Herpin, S.J., Celebrant.

Inurnment will follow at the St. Jude Columbarium with Full Military Honors provided by Holloman Air Force Base Honor Guard.

Cremation provided locally under the direction of the Alamogordo Funeral Home.
