Funeral services for Betty Jean Crabtree, 88 of Algood will be Friday, January 15th at 1 p.m. at Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Eddie Turner will officiate. Entombment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery.
Betty’s family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Crabtree died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 6, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late James Francis and Eleanor Sare Gleckner Musgrave. She and her late husband moved to California in 1957 and lived there before moving to Tennessee in 1972.
She was a sweet and giving person who was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a deep love for her family, and was especially concerned about each family member’s salvation. She spent her time on earth going about and doing her Father’s business. She was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly in Algood.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Oswald Crabtree; brothers, Ronnie, Francis, Stanley and Edmond Musgrave; and by sisters, Desi, Aileen and Juanita.
Survivors include daughters, Artis Anne Talley and husband Hugh and Jeannie E. Bell and husband Dave; son, Daniel James Crabtree, all of Cookeville; seven grandchildren, Joann Heady, Keith Clouse, Camille Farley, Tiffany Crabtree, April Sowell, Kylie Crabtree and Daniel Cole Crabtree; ten great grandchildren, Chris Flatt, Bud Peters, Ricky Winkler, Kristin Clouse, Makayla Farley, Bryce, Connor, Beth Grace, Elijah Sowell and Tucker Sowell, and by great-great grandchildren, Jean Marie Peters, Colton Peters and Jordan Peters and a baby girl on the way.
Betty’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
