Hazel Ruth Gilmore, 86, of Lampasas died December 3, 1997 at Spring Oak Nursing Home in Lampasas. She was born in Lampasas County on March 18, 1911, the daughter of William and Statira Martin. She married Temple Gilmore, who preceded her in death in 1962. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lampasas and had lived in the Burnet-Lampasas area all of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane Alderson and husband, Tim, of Lampasas, and Shirley Campbell and husband, Jim, of San Angelo; son, Bill Gilmore and wife, Katy, of Burnet; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Temple; son, Gordon Gilmore; grandson, Gordon Gilmore, Jr.; one brother and five sisters.
Funeral arrangements were scheduled for December 6 by Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home in Lampasas, Pastor Stephen Holcombe officiating. Burial followed at the Naruna Cemetery in Naruna.
