Herbert R. Bass, Sr., 85, passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Pine Pointe Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Randall Mimbs will officiate. The family will meet friends at a reception from 6 – 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bass, son of the late Willie Joe and Bertha Mae McDowell Bass, was a lifelong resident of Macon. He was a farmer and owner of Bass Produce. Mr. Bass was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church. He was a member of Masonic Lodge of Lizella, Al Sihah Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite Bodies. He was the father of the late Herbert R. "Herb" Bass, Jr.
