In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Myron C. Henkle, three brothers Brice, Coleman and Luther Stewart, four sisters Della Hodge, Mary Abee, Letha Blankenship and Bessie DeMarco.
She graduated from Belmont High School in 1936. She was an avid Gardener and enjoyed working in her yard from sun up to sundown. She was also an accomplished seamstress.
She is survived by two sons, Larry Henkle and wife Cheryl of Stanley and Reggie Henkle and wife Dottie of Mount Holly; six grandchildren, Katherine Henkle, Tammy Henkle Bynum, Charlotte Henkle Stillwell, Lee Ann Miller, Teresa Hunsucker and Allen Hoke; seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
