Early Life: Marty was born November 27, 1968, in Pocatello, Idaho, and resided in Blackfoot, Idaho, the son of Milford Austin and Esther Ellen Findlay Hill.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: He loved the LDS Church, education, Scouting and having a hand in just about any organization that could stretch his mind, skills and talents. Marty served a two year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tokyo, Japan. He was enlisted in the United States Navy and Army National Guard then an officer in the Air Force. He attended Brigham Young University earning a Bachelor in Business Communications and Masters in Educational Administration. His career outside of the military was as a professional speaker, working for the LDS Church and in various positions in education, lastly as a communications professor at Utah Valley University in the business school. Marty did not slow down after "retiring" from UVU. He became heavily involved in community and national organizations such as BSA, NSA, WEN, SHRM, Utah State Pharmacy Board and more. He created a concurrent enrollment program between UVU and SLCC with two high schools, helping many students reach their college goals. Marty Val Hill passed away peacefully on January 6, 2016, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, under the care of his family and hospice at the end of his nine year dance with cancer.
Survived By: His wife, Terry Ann Battaglia Hill; sons: Zaren Chase Hill and Alexander Leighton Hill; brothers: Austin Bard Hill (Claudia) and Arch Kevin Hill (Angie); nieces: Tara (Brian Boyd) and Marlee; nephews: Cameron (Stephanie), Dmitri, Jaemen (Ashlyn), Bryghton and Hamilton.
