Michael Ray Harjo, 51, Mcloud, Oklahoma resident died, Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Michael was born September 28, 1964 in Pawnee, Oklahoma to Raymond Marcey Harjo and Susie (Johnson) Harjo.

Michael was raised in Seminole, Oklahoma and was a proud member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. He was a cook at the Red Fork restaurant in Harrah, Oklahoma, however most of his working life was spent as a roofer. Michael loved playing softball, watching football, basketball and going fishing as a young boy with his father and uncle Charlie.

Michael is survived by his wife JoAnn Harjo of Mcloud, Oklahoma, two sons; Cody Meely and Joseph Murdock both of Mcloud, Oklahoma; a daughter Michelle Harjo of McLoud, Oklahoma; two brothers Richmond Harjo and his wife Michelle of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma and Travis Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma; four sisters, Arlene Davis and her husband Jack of Okemah, Christine McKinney and her husband John of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, Marilyn Toledo and her husband Polo of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Carol Harjo of Shawnee, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; Josylyn Murdock, Jo Lyn Murdock, Lucas Murdock, Cobie Peacock, Ania Jo Murdock, Jolissa Murdock, and Chanelle Murdock.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Betty Carpitche, Lena Ponkilla, brothers Barney Ray Harjo, Soloman Harjo and Kenneth Harjo.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Earlsboro Indian Baptist Church, with Rev. Houston Tiger and Rev. Jack Davis officiating. Burial will be at the Johnson Family Cemetery south of Wetumka, Oklahoma.
