Sadie Dodson, 85, of Dix, Neb., formerly of Sycamore, died Sunday, Sept. 4, 1983 at Kimball County Hospital in Kimball, Neb.
She was born Aug. 1, 1898 in Vera, Ill., the daughter of John and Mary (Jackson) Clark. She married Clarence M. Dodson on Sept. 16, 1916 in Vandalia.
She was formerly employed for 12 years by Sycamore Municipal Hospital housekeeping department. She retired in 1978.
She is survived by four sons, Kenneth of Mattoon, Oral of Sycamore, Ralph of Sycamore and Roy of rural Kingston; one daughter, Lenora Anderson of Dix, Neb.; one sister, Hazel Williams of Vandalia; 24 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five children and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home with Pastor Stephen Persson officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore. Visitation will be from 4-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home.
