Thadore Austin Sr., Mortens Bend Community, Rome Rte. 3, died Sunday in a Rome hospital after a short illness.

Mr. Austin was reared in Morten Bend community and joined St. Peters Baptists Church at an early age.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Carrie Mae Austin, four daughters, Mrs. Alma Washington and Mrs. Annie Byrdsong, Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Vera Mathis, Rome, and Mrs. Mary Boykins, Dayton, Ohio; five sons Thadore Austin Jr., Dayton, John Austin, Columbus, Richard Austin, Rome, Earnes and Eugene Austin, Columbus; 41 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.n. Thursday at St. Peters Baptist Church, Mortens Bend community, with the Rev. G. W. Askew and others officiating. Internment will be in Macedonia Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Charles D. Lynn chapel from 7 until 9 p.m. today. At other hours the family will be at the residence, Mortens Bend Community.
