Enlisted Jan. 2, 1917 at Calgary, Alberta in the A.M.C. Training Depot No. 13 and served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps in France.
Wounded in 1918.
Discharged, with Rank of Private, on March 11, 1919, being medically unfit.

REGINALD NISBET
Reginald (Rex) Thompson Nisbet, born December 14, 1897, on the family homestead southeast of Innisfail, N.W.T. (now Alberta) died at the Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria on Thursday, August 9, 1990. At the age of 17 he joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps in Calgary, Regimental No. 523481. Within a year he was sent to England then to France where he was severely wounded. He was hospitalized in the Netley Hospital of Southhampton. Upon his return to Alberta he homesteaded at Bottrel for a short time, followed by working a number of years in logging and construction in various places in both Canada and in the United States. He settled in Victoria in 1930. He and the former Miss Ena Leppard of Red Deer, Alberta, were married at Central Baptist Church by the late Dr. J.B. Rowells in 1934. During World War II, he was employed by the Victoria Machinery Depot as shipwright. A few years after the conclusion of the war, he was forced to take an early retirement due to declining health. Mr. Nisbet will be remembered as a quiet, earnest Christian gentleman, a faithful follower of his Lord, a loyal friend, a dearly loved husband, father, brother and uncle. He was predeceased by his wife in 1976 and by their only child, a son, Martin, in 1984. Besides his daughter-in-law, Pat, and his granddaughter, he leaves his sister Jessie of Olds, a sister-in-law Faye Nisbet of Bowden, three nephews of Bowden - Olds, Alberta, and three nieces, one of Edmonton, Alberta, one of Surrey, B.C. and one of Toronto, Ontario.
