Ms. Cynthia M. 'Cindy' Stark, 49, of 1530 South 9th, died at 4:08 a..m. Thursday (December 14, 2006) in her home following a courageous six year battle with breast cancer.
Born September 12, 1957 in San Diego, California, Cindy was the daughter of Ernesto Delagarza and Roberta and Eugene Guthrie, with whom she was raised. Cindy was married to Randall 'Randy' Stark.
Cindy was a passionate cook and avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. She enjoyed playing Bingo and traveling, making several trips to Las Vegas. Cindy loved her pets, especially her dog, Howie and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
Cindy worked in distribution for Anderson-Austin Publications and then for Sunset Home. She later worked at Barrels and Bins in the Quincy Mall, retiring due to her health.
Survivors include four daughters, Amy Parmer and her husband Bryan of Tampa, FL., Carrie Stark of Oak Park, IL., Randa Stark of Chicago, IL. and Megan Stark of Quincy; two grandchildren, Evan Parmer and Leyton Parmer both of Tampa, FL.; her mother, Roberta Guthrie of Quincy; her step father, Eugene Guthrie of Amarillo, TX.; a sister, Lori Guthrie of Quincy; a niece, Krista Guthrie of Quincy; a nephew, Brandon Guthrie of Quincy; her caregivers, Tammy Long and Cindy Willingham; and many loving step siblings, Aunts, Uncles cousins and friends.
Ms. Stark was preceded in death by her father; a brother Troy Guthrie; and maternal grandparents, James and Ina Nutt.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:30 in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home by the Rev. George Tomko. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Private inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 and Monday until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or Parkview Church.
