Colleen Mercer was born January 12, 1961 in Hamilton, Ohio to Virginia Williams. Colleen grew up in Glendale, Ohio and was educated in the Princeton City Schools. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1979. At a young age she was baptized at Mount Zion of Glendale where she remained a member until her passing.

In 1981, she became the proud parent of her only son Ronald Williams. In 1984 she met Michael Mercer. The two of them had a loving and long relationship, and in 2002, Colleen and Mike were married in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Colleen began working at Proctor and Gamble in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1980. She started her work at Proctor and Gamble as a temporary employee. She worked hard to show that she would be a valuable asset to one of the world’s largest companies and became a permanent employee. While an employee at Proctor and Gamble, her job provided her opportunities to travel across the country. She retired in 2004 at Proctor and Gamble working in their Information Technology department.

She proved her talents again at Advanced Pierre Foods, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She moved from a temporary position to a permanent position again. She worked at Advanced Pierre Foods until she could no longer work. Her coworkers were impressed with her ability to work even through illness. Colleen will be missed by her fellow coworkers.

Colleen was known for her personality and her generosity. Many can say that Colleen aka Sweetpea “has looked out for me.” When you entered a room, you knew when Colleen was present. Colleen was known for her style and fashion. Colleen has also donated to numerous charities. She always supported her daughter-in-law’s classroom fundraisers.

One of Colleen’s greatest joys were her twin grandchildren, Bryon and Taylor Williams. She affectionately called them her “munchkins” and they affectionately called her “Mimi.”

Colleen leaves to cherish her memories: Mike her devoted husband of 13 years; her only child Ronald (Robyn) Williams; two grandchildren, Bryon and Taylor Williams; loving mother, Virginia Williams; sisters Sandra “Cookie” Williams (Michael Poe), Wanda Lambert; brothers Claybourne Reid, Carlos Reid, Darrell (Donna) Reid, Ronnie Reid, and Montez Reid; Uncle Russell (Sylvia) Williams, Aunt Pauline Williams, God Daughter Takietha Johnson and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 3, 2015, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 40 Coral Avenue, Glendale (45246). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow Oak Hill Cemetery in Springdale, Ohio.
