A graveside service for Mr. Crawford will be Saturday, January 9, 2016 with Military honors provided by the U. S. Army at the grave site.
Russ was born in Merchantville, NJ on December 16, 1921 and the son of the late Russell F. and Bertha Crawford, Sr. He graduated from high school at age 16 and graduated from Wheaton and Kings Colleges. He was a phenomenal pianist playing in a barbershop quartet. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps in WWII as a Hump Pilot flying dozens of missions and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. Upon being honorably discharge he married the love of his wife, Louise Easter Woods.
Mr. Crawford moved south to Greenville, SC in 1960 and developed several chemical manufacturing companies. He was dedicated in serving the Lord and was a fixture in the choir. He was truly a blessing to his family and friends in that he exemplified Christian morals and values.
He is survived by his daughter Cheryl Forley of Columbia; his sons, Dr. Keith Crawford of Atlanta and Dr. Chris Crawford of Rock Hill; his brother, Dr. Donald Crawford of Harrisburg, PA; and his eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
