Johnstown Tribune, June 21, 1922.
Mrs. Gomer Collins, aged 56 years, died unexpectedly of apoplexy at the Collins home, 201 Vaughn Street, Twenty-first Ward, last evening. Mrs. Collins was stricken at 5:15 o'clock and passed away an hour later. Funeral services will be conducted at the house at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon by the Rev. Dr. Sanford N. Carpenter, pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church, of which Mrs. Collins was a member. Burial will be made in the South Fork Cemetery.
(next day) Mrs. Mary Shaffer Kemerer Collins was born March 17, 1866, at Mineral Point, East Taylor Township, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Shaffer. She was married twice, the first time to Hiram Kemerer, who died a number of years ago. She later married Gomer Collins, who survives, with the following children: Homer Kemerer, Jr., Scalp Level; H.D. Kemerer, Roxbury; Mrs. William Miller, South Fork, and Walter E. Collins, at home. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. David Burkhart, of Ebensburg.
