"MRS. ALEX QUIST died Wednesday at her home east of the village. The funeral was yesterday with burial in the Preemption cemetery.
(December 21st issue: Elizabeth, daughter of David and Elizabeth Wiltshire Little was born 15 March 1844 at Preemption, Rock Island County, Illinois, and grew to womanhood there. She married Alexander Quist on 27 October 1872, and they had seven children--Mrs. Louie Hender of Iowa City, Iowa; Inez, Margaret, David, Carl, Jennie, and Francis Quist at home. She was one of eight children, and the sixth to die. She is survived by two sisters: Mrs Lucinda Armstrong and Mrs. Mary J. Rathbun. At the time of her marriage, she and her husband settled in Kansas, but returned to Illinois in 1876 and have since lived in Bowling twp., Rock Island County. She joined the Preemption M.E. Church at the age of 14 years, but after returning from Kansas, she joined the Reynolds M.E. Church. Mrs. Clara Atherton is the sister of her husband. She died on December 12, 1900. The funeral was Thursday with burial in the Preemption cemetery.)"
