MADISON — Nellie G. Butler, age 81, of Madison, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015, at her home while surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 5, 1934, in Left Hand, W.Va., to Lawrence and Oma (Deweese) Truman. Nellie married Carlos Butler in Spencer, W.Va. on Sept. 1, 1951.
Nellie loved “Crusin” with the antique cars and really enjoyed Ford Mustangs - she and Carlos had a ’65 Mustang. She delighted in the outdoors and camping with her family – starting with a pop-up camper which later led to a park/seasonal model. Nellie enjoyed reading and the Game Show Network. Of all of Nellie’s joys, her greatest joy was spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie K. (Richard) Roediger and Theresa A. Carnish; sons, Jack A. (Darlene) Butler and Dan R. (Janet) Butler; grandchildren, Heather Carnish, Tod Carnish, Jeff Butler, Adam Butler and Chad Butler; great-grandchildren, Bryanna, Logan, Charley and Kaydn; sisters, Oeta Miller and Gladys McQuain-Carper; brothers, Sonny (Sherri) Truman and James (Judy) Truman; and her loved parakeets, "Mickey and Minnie."
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carlos; son, Rickie Butler; sister, Delores Siers; and brother, Harry S. Truman.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 4th, at BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 26 River St., Madison. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5th, at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Larry Wade will officiate. Final Resting Place will be Madison Memorial Cemetery.
