Michael C. Sewell entered peacefully into heaven December 5, 2015 at Hospice House Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Sue, of 43 years, daughter, Lindsey and grandson Sylvante Kimbrough, mother Mary Sewell; sister Judy (Andy) Jones and brother, Jeff all of Clearwater, Florida. He also leaves a multitude of family members, aunts, uncles, sisters, and brother in law’s, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Sewell.
Mike was born in Charleston, West Virginia on December 10, 1947 and moved to Clearwater with his family when he was 9 years old. He loved Florida living and adjusted well to the sunshine state. He was a graduate of Clearwater High Class of “65” where he excelled in track and field and numerous other sports and University of South Florida in 1974 where he majored in Mass Communications. He was proud to be a “USF Bull.” Mike was a veteran of the US Air Force where he proudly served in Japan and Turkey.
His journey in life took him many places. he suffered a massive stroke at the young age of 33 years old, but still experienced a full life. He became an accomplished oil painter and painted many pictures for friends and family. He was a faithful husband, father and grandfather with a wonderful attitude and a smile always on his face.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday December 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Skycrest United Methodist Church at 2045 Drew Street Clearwater, Florida with Pastor Tom Bates officiating.
