GEORGE J. ENNIS

George J. Ennis died at Swartwood. Feb. 10. He was the son of Solomon and Jane Ennis and

was seventy-four years of age. Mr. Ennis was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and

had a steadfast belief in the goodness of God. All the years of his life he lived uprightly.

Early in life, Mr. Ennis was united in marriage to Emma Woolever, a daughter of Jason P.

Woolever, who a prominent jurist Of Chemung County. A highly esteemed woman was Mrs.

Ennis who died in 1916. Subsequently Mr. Ennis married again.

He is survived by his widow. by two brothers, Van Ennis and Clark Ennis. Also numerous

nephews and nieces. Mr. Ennis was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Van Etten. A member

of Cashmere Grotto of Elmira.

Profuse, floral offerings offered a silent testimony of the esteem in which he was held.

The Rev. H. E. Erway of Van Etten officiated and burial was in the Swartwood cemetery with

the Masonic committal service.
