Lelia "Granny" Ida Hamilton, 82, of Laurel Fork, died Monday, March 25, 2002, at Twin County Regional Hospital.
She was born September 18, 1919 in Iowa to the late Robert Edward and Georgia Wood Barnard.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mabel Rodgers, Larmie Davidson, Bessie Overby and Ruth Lassiter; and three brothers, Marion, Charles Lee and Loy Barnard. She was retired from Pannill Knitting Co. Surviving are one daughter, Anita Coleman of Meadows of Dan; two sisters, Evelyn Spangler of Critz and Rosie Cox of Florida; two brothers, J.O. Barnard of Meadows of Dan and Frank Barnard of Maiden, N.C.; one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Revs. Clarence Marshall and Dale Shively. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
