Raymond Reuter Funeral Held At Six Mile Grove

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 7 at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church for Raymond C. Reuter, 53, who was killed in a car accident south of Rose Creek July 3. The Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiated and interment was int eh church cemetery.

Raymond Chris Reuter, was born July 19, 1909 in Jones County, Iowa, the son of Carl and Lena (Decker) Reuter.

At the age of three he moved to Mona with his parents and at the age of nine they moved to a farm south of Austin.

he attended the grade school at Mona and also the country school south of Austin.

he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith of which he remained a faithful member.

On May 21, 1932 he was united in marriage with Jeanette Nelson. They resided on a farm south of Austin, later moved to Rose Creek, and the past 17 years, on a farm in the Lyle community.

Five children were born to this union, one daughter and our sons.

Mr. Reuter was a member of Six Mile Grove church, Lutheran Brotherhood, Minute Man R.E.A., Knights of Pythias and Farmers Union. He served on the church board as Trustee for three years, Township Board seventeen years and School board eighteen years.

He had a happy greeting for everyone, and was a friend to all. The community will suffer a great loss in his passing.

Surviving are his wife Jeanette, a daughter (Gloria) Mrs. Neil Fedson, Austin; four sons, Ronald and Roger, both of Austin; Carleton of Lyle and Jerry at home; also seven grandchildren; a brother Leo of Austin, Minn.; two sisters (Laura) Mrs. Ben Engelbardt, Langworthy, Iowa; (Gusta) Mrs. Louis Helgens, Monticello, Iowa, many relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Rex and a sister, Clara.

LYLE, Minn. -- Funeral services for Raymond Reuter, 53, have been set for 2 p.m. (DST) Sunday at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church. The Rev. Stanley Klemesrud will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Jeanette; a daughter, Mrs. Neil (Gloria) Fedson, Austin, Minn.; four sons, Ronald and Roger, both of Austin; Carleton, Lyle, and Jerry, at home; a brother, Leo, Austin; seven grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Louis Helgens and Mrs. Ben Engelbart, both of Monticello.
