Lt. Torkelson, Lyle, Victim of Auto Crash

Funeral services for Lieutenant Elmo Torkelson of Lyle, fatally injured in an automobile crash at Birmingham, Alabama, Saturday, were held Wednesday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Belle Torkleson, in Lyle at 1:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. at the Lyle Lutheran church, with the Rev. O. M. Langehough officiating.

Lietenant Torkelson's body arrived in Austin, Minn., Tuesday morning. Surviving are his mother, a brother, Kermit of Lyle, and a sister, Mrs. George Burtness of Blooming Prairie, Minn.

Lietenant Torkelson had visited his mother over the weekend of June 29-30, when he flew a Martin bomber to Austin for the Minnesota Air Fair.
