Judy Emilie Hansen (Grunwald) passed peacefully on July 30, 2010, surrounded by her husband and daughters.
Judy was born in Iola, Wis., Dec. 2, 1947, to Doris and Paul Grunwald. She graduated from Waupaca High School in 1965, and attended Key Punch operator school in Milwaukee. After completion of her schooling, she worked for W. H. Brady Co. in Milwaukee.

Judy married Alexander (Sandy) Hansen Aug. 22, 1970. She and Sandy moved to Marathon in the Florida Keys in 1974, where her husband took a job as biologist with the state of Fla. While there, she worked for Fishermen's Hospital as a Key Punch operator and later did the bookkeeping and record keeping for the business they had bought.

Church was an important part of her life. At Martin Luther Chapel in Marathon, she served in various positions on church council, worked on fellowship functions, cleaned the church faithfully every Saturday and was a youth group leader, where she became known as "the game lady." She loved organizing games for youth group and church activities.

She was a Marathon High School "Band Parent," chaperoning the band on competition trips. She is lovingly remembered by many of her past youth group and band members.
In 2002 she and Sandy moved to Inverness, Fla. Judy was again involved with church serving in various church council positions, working at fellowship activities and singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed yard work and caring for her beloved azaleas.

She is survived by her husband, Sandy; daughters Paula Hansen of Inverness, Melanie and son-in-law Steven Shea (and soon to be grandson) of Orlando; mother-in-law Pauline Hansen of Weyauwega; adoptive sister Sharon Martin Appleton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family and friends will gather at First Lutheran Church in Inverness on August 21 at 11:00 a.m. to celebrate Judy's life.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Citrus County or the American Cancer Society . Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Published in Citrus County Chronicle
