Genealogy is important to me. I learned about it as a young child as I accompanied my genealogist mother on her quest to find her ancestors. I always loved the hunt and all of the wonderful surprises found along the way.

I do Find A Grave for the purpose of helping others with their genealogical journeys, and to honor my ancestors, friends, and others by keeping their memories alive.

My memorials are made straight from photos I take of markers. I love to share my photos with others. You may use them for your personal trees. This is one of the reasons I contribute to Find A Grave. It is nice to help others in this tiny way.

ADDING OBITS: It is now fine to add obits to a memorial. I heard this from another Find A Grave contributor as they asked Find A Grave and received the following from a Find A Grave Administrator:

"Since the move to Ancestry and the new website, newspaper obituaries, death certificates and other scanned documentation is allowed. We encourage members to move the images down to the bottom of the photo display so that they are not the first thing you see when viewing a memorial page."
