Darlene passed away on December 24, 2015.

She was born April 12, 1919 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of David and Mary Ann Hitesman Fowkes.

She married Arnold E. Andersen on April 2, 1941; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

Darlene graduated from South High School. She retired from First Security Bank after thirty-four years of service.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in three Relief Society presidencies and served a mission with her husband at Welfare Square as a guide for six ½ years.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Ralph. Survived by loved nieces and nephews, Anna and Hugo Diederich, Shauna and Norm Steen, Alayna Nelson, Dann and April Nelson, Kelly and Pat Nelson, JoAnn and Jay Ludwig, Carolyn and Tim Austin, Ken and June Andersen, and Allan and Shirlee Andersen; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2015 at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, with a viewing one hour prior.
Interment will follow in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
