Lena Williams Medlin, 97, of Northwest, went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 28, 2015. Lena was preceded in death by her husband, Earl "Red" Medlin; her son, Donald Medlin; one brother and five sisters. She is survived by her five children, Jimmy Medlin (Diane), Shirley M. Tompkins, David E. Medlin (Patricia), Tylon D. Medlin (Mary) and Susan M. Gibbons (Chuck); three sisters, Betty Smith, Yvonne Hamilton, and Faye Johnson; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. Lena was a lifetime member of All Souls Episcopal Church, Northwest. She was a loving mother and true angel on Earth. The family would like to extend thanks to everyone for all of the help given to Mrs. Medlin over the years. She will be sorely missed. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at All Souls Episcopal Church. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will follow at the Medlin Cemetery.
