When Sarah was a young girl she went to Holden, Millard County, Utah to live with the Richard Johnson family. where she was employed. She helped with the house work and caring for the family. It was while she was working in Holden that she met and fell in love with Samuel Probert. He and his family had also came from England and settled in Holden. They were married January 12 1869 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City by Daniel H Wells. Sarah felt that her widowed mother needed her and she was homesick for her family, so she persuaded Sam to move to Scipio to make their home.
Sarah was a quiet woman, she was industrious and busy all the time She was good and generous to her mother, sisters and brothers. She was a person that stayed in the background and took care of her family.
