November 26, 1945 ~ December 9, 2015

“Loving Poppa”
Ernie Adams died December 9, 2015, at his home surrounded by family in Fillmore, Utah.
Ernie was born November 26, 1945, the second child of Ernest L. Adams and Una Bulkley. He was born in Salt Lake City. He met the love of his life, Joan Miller while serving an LDS Mission in Australia. They have been married since March 16, 1968. They have two children Ian (Lani) Adams and Alex Adams, both of Fillmore. He died nine years to the day after the death of his mother. He missed his Mom.
Ernie exemplified service. He was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War and upon his return joined the Utah National Guard. He was a volunteer Fillmore City fireman having also served many years in the Millard County Sheriff’s Posse, a majority of those as Commander. He worked for many years as a Correctional Deputy for the Millard County Sheriff. He was always willing to help friends with their projects. He could fix and build anything. Ernie loved to “putter” around in his garden and yard. He was a talented man who was willing to tackle any projects in him home, even if his children believed it was too much for an “old” man to be doing. He is famous for his homemade fire starters.

*Ernie leaves behind his beloved wife, his two sons, his daughter, and four grandsons. Ernie loved being with Joan. They would work in their beautiful yard together and enjoyed camping with their family. They loved being together. Joan took wonderful care of Ernie all his life. They truly are best friends. *His grandsons loved their poppa dearly. *They were always on his heels wanting to build or fix something with him. They thought their grandpa could fix anything. Ernie was lucky to have his “bud” Alex at his hip. They were inseparable- if you saw Ernie, you saw Alex. Ernie loved to spend time with his “big kid.” Ernie taught Ian to do many things and they worked well together. They were two peas in a pod always teasing, pulling faces, and having fun together. Ian wanted to be like his dad so much that Ian also went into Law Enforcement. One of his best friends was his little brother Loyal, who he loved dearly.

Ernie is preceded in death by his parents, his baby sister Marjorie, his in-laws John and Helen Miller, as well as his Stepfather George W. Hall.
