Cecil Bradford Burgess, 83, was called home to be by his wife's side on December 19, 2015. Dora Alice Benavides Burgess, 83, was called home by our Lord on December 17, 2015. Cecil was born on March 22, 1932. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and later was employed for the Port of Corpus Christi for several years. Dora was born in Mexico on November 18, 1932, to Francisco and Marta Benavides. They were loving parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and friends who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew them.
Cecil leaves to cherish his memories his son, Ron Burgess; two stepsons, Jessie Ruiz, Carlos Ruiz, his stepdaughter, Betty Ann, his grandson, Jake Burgess, and one step granddaughter, Kristy Scott.
Dora leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Jessie Ruiz, Carlos Ruiz, one daughter, Betty Ann; seven brothers and sisters, Argo, Amado, Rosa, Ludy, Frank, Noema, and Armando Benavides and one granddaughter, Kristy Scott.
They were also blessed and adored by their seven great grandchildren, Betty Ann, Darlene, Melinda, Moses, Aiden, Ryan, Addison, as well as, numerous other relatives and friends who loved them unconditionally.
The prayer service will be held at 7PM on Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Ramon Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will be conducted at 1PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, 3115 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78404. Interment will follow at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
