Tommie Jo Walker was born May 23, 1922 in Hugo, OK to William Alexander and Olive Kate (Knox) Fly. She died December 24, 2015 in Edmond, OK.

Tommie Jo was always full of life and full of love. Her contagious smile was clear evidence of joy she had. She met her true love, Lionel Walker, at a church youth meeting in 1940. They married in 1942 and their bond remained ever faithful for more than 71 years until the time of his passing in 2014. She and Lionel enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, and sharing their incredible faith through mission trips. She always stayed busy as a model homemaker, serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Leader, with PTA, and various Bible classes. Tommie Jo was passionate about reading and studying, especially Scripture. She read the entire Bible through every year for over 30 years. She also enjoyed writing and wrote a variety of stories, many of which were published in various magazines. She loved teaching Sunday School, and authored a variety of VBS series for children.

Tommie Jo is survived by her son, Steve Walker and wife Jo Anna; 3 daughters, Patti Allison and husband Mike, Rebecca Walker, and Pam Parker and husband Ron; 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A come-and-go visitation will be from 3-5pm on Sunday, January 3, 2015 at Crawford Family Funeral Service, Edmond. A service celebrating her life will be at 10am on Monday, January 4th at Crawford Funeral Service with a reception immediately following. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
