Ruth Piper Collier went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2015. She was 93 years young. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel D. Collier. She is survived by daughter, Penny (Charles) Brightwell and son, Samuel (Catherine) Douglas Collier, Jr. and her sister, Peggy Cole, and seven grandchildren, Ruth (Ward) McFarland, Charles (Alecia) Brightwell, III, James (Sara) Douglas Brightwell, Samuel (Sarah) D. Collier, III, Maegan M. Collier, Lauren (Ryan) B. Kuratko, A. Weston Browder and seven great-grandchildren, Haley and Katie Brightwell, Wells McFarland, Samuel D. Collier, IV and John David Collier, Wystan H. Kuratko, Thomas Simeon Kuratko and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her wonderful caretakers Chiquitta Thomas and Chiketa McCullough. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church Parlor with memorial service at 11:00 a.m. in the Stakely Sanctuary with the Rev. Dr. Jay Wolf presiding. Graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Catherine Collier presiding.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Montgomery at 305 South Perry Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.
