ASHLEY, SR., Kenneth R. Age 77, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at 7:15 a.m. at Atrium Medical Center where he had been a patient for 6 days. He was born September 4, 1930 in Clay City, Kentucky and had lived in Middletown since 1946. He was employed as a Crane Operator in East Processing at Armco Steel, retiring in 1991 after 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Carl and Gracie (Hall) Ashley; 2 sons, Carl Edward and Kenneth Ray Ashley, Jr.; 1 Grandson, Joey Ashley; and 3 brothers, David, Willis and Paul Ashley. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Alice; 2 daughters, Betty Jean Wright, husband David, Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Patrice Kairn, husband Bill of Middletown, Ohio; 1 son, James Russell Ashley, wife Helen, Middletown, Ohio; 2 step-sons, Gerald Frazier, wife Mary Helen, Indianapolis, Indiana and John Williams, Middletown, Ohio; 1 step-daughter, Melissa Wilder, husband Robert, Trenton, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Omer Lee Ashley, wife Jean, Middletown, Ohio and Wayne Russell Ashley, wife Lillie, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2008 from 12 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown, Ohio, followed by services at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ricky Kelley officiating. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Trenton, Ohio. Arrangements by Herr-Riggs Funeral Home, 210 S. Main St., Middletown.
