Audie W., died Jan. 8, 1996 at 5:15 a.m. He was born July 25, 1915 in Jayton, Tx., Kent County, where he also attended school. On Nov. 4, 1939, he married Verda Mae Phipps in Jayton. They moved to San Antonio, Tx. in 1940, where he went to work at Kelly Air Force Base. He later moved to Oklahoma City to work at Tinker Air Force Base, where he retired in 1971 after 30 years of Civil service. Mr. Armes was an active member of Shartel Church of God. Preceded in death by his parents, Pallie & B.L. Armes and brother, J.W. Armes. He is surved by his wife of 56 years, Verda; 1 son, Ronald Armes & wife, Carolyn; 1 daughter, Glenda Fatkin & husband, Tom; 5 grandchildren, David & Eden Fatkin, Lori & Mike Higgs, Andrea & BJ Dunn and Deidra & Jennifer Armes; 7 great grandchildren Jared, Alex & Holly Fatkin, Ryan & Emily Higgs, Jamilyn & Trey Dunn; 1 sister, Mary Womack of Lubbock, Tx. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thurs., Jan. 11, 1996 at Shartel Church of God in Oklahoma City with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens. (Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary, 6934 S.
