Ret. Master Sgt. Richard Lawson, 84, of Fayetteville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 18th, 2015. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam and Korean Wars.
He is preceded in death by his wife Joan Barker Lawson, his children Dawn Lawson Maynor, Dana Lawson, and three children whom passed at infancy.
He is survived by his sisters Mary Ellen Davis (Jack) and Ann Cooper both of Indiana, his brother-in-law David Barker of Virginia, his son Duane Lawson of Virginia, his grandchildren Amber Jones (Mitch) of North Carolina, Marshall Maynor of North Carolina, Amber Blevins (Joel) of Tennessee, and Richard Scott Lawson of Virginia, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place at the American Legion Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, VA at 11AM on Wednesday, December 30th, 2015.
