Kelton entered the service January 7, 1938. He was a member of Co. A ,746th Tank Battalion and they hit Utah Beach on D-Day. They linked up with the 82nd Airborne and helped secure St.Mere Eglise. Kelton was wounded on June 13, 1944 and was evacuated to the 68th US General Hospital in England with Multiple shell fragment wounds and died of his wounds on August 16, 1944.
